Shame on you!!!! If your policy is to fire the people that answer the call for help from their community, then you should lose the communities business!!! I hope if the need for help comes your way, someone will answer.
Normally I support Home Depot over other stores but now after reading this story I will take my business elsewhere. Shame on a company for firing an employee while they are out risking their life fighting fires. Home Depot....you should be ashamed of yourself.
You let go or fired a firefighter that is away fighting a fire currently! Would you fire an Army reservist if they were called to active duty? Choosing this time to end a "seasonal" contract seems like a lame excuse since construction season/busy season isn't over! No matter what it's in bad form to fire an employee while they're servicing their community! This is exactly the kind of selfless employee you should be seeking! My thoughts are the management staff need to be let go!!!! Needless to say Home Depot will get nothing... read more
You guys need to answer for the employee who was fired when he needed to go fight the fires in Hamilton. I realize we only have one side of the story, but if he lost his job for serving as a fire fighter you need to re-evaluate your employment policies.
It doesn't matter if you fired firefighter, Corey Nunnally, while he was responding to the Billings, MT fire or the Roaring Lion Fire near Hamilton, MT. You still FIRED a firefighter while he was on a fire saving lives and homes. You should be supporting your employees and the community, not FIRING them for fighting fires!
Very sad to know that one of your employees was let go for coming to help save homes and lives as a firefighter on the Hamilton, MT fire. Corey Nunnally, along with many hard working responders are risking their own lives to keep our homes and valley safe. This is unexceptionable! As a company you should be working to help keep our community safe!
