Just spent a week in Sedona for our honeymoon. Stopped in the Hike House at least 3 times. Picked up a book, some clothes, some snacks and spent the week hiking 6 or 7 different trails. Got some great information, met a couple great people, including Gracie. Do yourself a favor, pick up the Hike House Sedona Hiking Guide Book. It has great information on a bunch of trails. Can't wait for volume 2! The only negative I can say is they didn't have my pant size in stock! Ahhh well, I'll be back in August!
Being unfamiliar with Sedona and somewhat short on time, I decided to go with the private guide. I was truly impressed with the quality of the Hike House's guide service. Jayson Danoff was our guide. He covered all the bases - safety preparedness, knowledge of local fauna & flora, geology, native American history were all told with a flair for storytelling that left us wanting for more. Great experience. I'd definitely use them again.
I went in to ask about what hikes to take during our stay in Sedona. The staff was superb. The recommended the Hike House Book, but then picked out the best hikes based on my level. They used colored Sharpies to indicate different types of hikes, best time to take them, and a bit of info on each path. If you hike in Sedona, by all means, stop in and chat with the staff. Then when I left, they gave me a white chocolate cranberry cookie. What a great store.
We had a great experience at the Hike House. As tourists you never really know what to expect but the folks there are so helpful. They answered my questions and planned the perfect hike for us! We hiked Long Caynon, Deadmans Pass and Mescal trail. I would have never found this loop without their help! The views are amazing and the trail markers are unique! Thank you all so much! By the way, the merchandise is great too! Love my new hat and socks! Thanks for helping to create a wonderful experience in Sedona!
We had such a great experience here! Jason was great at helping me select the right hiking shoes and really listened to what I wanted in a shoe. He was extremely knowledgeable about the product and the area. He gave us a lot of great recommendations on good places to hike and climb. We plan on coming back to see Jason whenever we need other equipment!!
