Feel like a queen at Half King Summer and fall are the best times to take advantage of Half King's outdoor seating. And it's great if you have a dog...you can all plunk down outside. Tons of great beers , wine , and cocktails. The food is pretty good...burgers, mussels, nachos. Great place to check out all the hunks walking back from Chelsea piers. And you can smoke on one side of the patio outside.

Great neighborhood bar with great food too! The Half King is a great place to get a beer or eat a meal. There is plenty of outside seating on the street or in the back garden. The interior is warm and cozy. They have great beers on tap and live music. The service is consistent. The food is not typical bar fare and the ingredients are fresh. PROS: Good food, good drinks, good service CONS: None

Great location but service can be better I frequently come here after gallery tour in Chelsea. The location makes it very convenient. They serve nice bar food particularly sweet potato fries. The price is rather high, but justify with the location. I sometimes feel that people at the bar do not treat me right. They are rather brunt and not accommodating. I suppose you can do that if the place is busy enough.

My husband and I lived in CT for years and would always choose the Half King when we were in the city. So sad to hear if it’s closing. It was a great place to go to after an art opening.
