Nothing on the internet does this place justice! No pictures or descriptions, reviews or videos will suffice to prepare you for the experience. The grotto, gardens and chapel were all breathtaking - but nothing compares to the Meditation Chapel. When silent, and you can actually meditate, the work of the Holy Spirit can be felt. We are ecstatic we made the time for this visit - we are moved and will be a supporter/visitor for many years to come.
My first visit to The Grotto was back in the late 80's, early 90's. I fell in love with the quietness, the flowers, and had the honor of meeting a Priest who had been held captive. He took the time to talk to me. ME! I was so touched by his kindness. But, in all honesty, my favorite place is the little chapel. I don't get to Oregon often, but when I do, I make a point to visit the Grotto.
It is a moving experience anytime I visit. Thank you to the caretakers and staff as my visits are never anything other than fulfilling. peace
