last night @ badnights – I was first presented my bill at the end of the show unawary that there would be an 18% grat on a party of 2. I had no prior knowledge of this. When I asked to speak to a manager, the waitress said that he would be over. The show ended and I proceeded to wait upstairs at the bar in a mass of people. Eventually, a staff member from the bar upstairs asked if I needed anything and I proceeded to tell him that I was waiting for a manager. The staff member which said he was sorry for the hassel but the ow... read more

Grab a bite to eat and laugh a little or a lot at this Raleigh comedy spot. – In Short Friends and couples out for a few laughs make the Triangle's largest comedy club one of the busiest places in town. Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O'Donnell and Robin Williams have performed at this bright three-story hot spot. The first two floors house the large stage and lots of seating while an upscale restaurant and bar occupies the third. Come early to dine on traditional American fare and get first dibs on a front-row view of the show.

Concentrate on eats – While the comedy club is still top notch after many years, the food really needs improvement. Champagne Charlies was our choice and while I understand the very limited menu, it needs to at least be served at better than room temperature, especially the price. Also need to find a better crowd flow method so that folks aren't running all over each other when going from the restaurants to the club. Glad to see it is now non smoking in the club and still acts that are worth every cent. But do re-evaluate yo... read more

Good place for a great date – Let's be honest folks, usually people don't write honest reviews and tend to vent when one small thing went wrong. I went to see Tim Wilson on 8/22 and had great service every step of the way. We had dinner at Chamagne Charlie's and then caught the show. The servers were very attentive and the food was great. If you want to make sure you get your name on the list for a show, I recommend you call after 1:00 PM to get your name on the reserved list. Mention the website and they are more than happy... read more

laid back fun – I just went and saw Jeff Dunham (ventriloquist) and it was great! I had dinner and then saw the show. The staff may not be sugar-sweet, but they were very accomidating. We ventured down to the Old Bar for a drink after the show to find a very rowdy scene - topped off with girls dancing on the bar!

Fun, but frustrating – Charlie Goodnights is a great place to hit when you're in the mood for something different--you're sick of the bar scene or you hate the thought of seeing yet another movie. The problem, however, is that Goodnights can be disorganized. I've found myself waiting in long lines (in an uncomfortably crowded waiting area) as staff members clamor to find the reservation list. Don't go if you're claustrphobic.
