Update: People keep telling me they're going to email me back and no one has yet to do so. I was traveling alone. One issued occurred. The 2nd day I was in my room. I heard a guest using their key card to get in my room. I politely told them you have the wrong room. They came back but had a worker with them. They actually opened my door! My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during the Detroit marathon weekend. In short, this hotel portrays and prices itself as a luxury hotel, but service/hospitality were atrocious on all levels. Upon arrival, we had a lot of little bags to unload from our car. A staff member took our luggage cart from us even though we told them we weren't finished unloading. The Godfrey is a godsend. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and makes the experience a remarkable one. Iola at the front desk was especially awesome. She went out of her way to help us and I really appreciate her. And Angel in the restaurant downstairs was an actual angel The room was perfect. I slept better than I do at home. Prices are high. Service is low. Poorly maintained. Many complaints for me and colleagues in different rooms. Bed bugs, water leak, noise in rooms from roof top bar, no room service as advertised. Not even a 3 star hotel.
