We truly enjoyed our lunch at the Gnarly Barley. The menu is great. I am a vegetarian my husband is a carnivore, we both had plenty to choose from The atmosphere is fun the staff was great. Unfortunately, we are from out of town, Lakeland, so it will be a little while before we can return, but we definitely will be back.
Awesome atmosphere, great eats, and a fantastic beer selection! Had a twist on my all time favorite childhood meal... blue cheese & bacon grilled cheese, tomato bisque, and kettle chips and a coconut mash barley wine on tap that was to die for. Staff were very sweet, informative, and attentive, surely my favorite meal on our trip to Orlando. So glad I did a little research and ventured away from Universal. They had really good sweet tea !! But my husband and I both got the brisket and bacon with cheddar cheese hoagie and honestly we didn't care for it at all.. had the strangest taste .. in fact we couldn't even finish it... very disappointing!!!!
Good food, good beer and good company. What else can you ask for?
The Chipotle Brisket Taco was amazing. Uncle Steve's Mac n Cheese was so worth the 2 + hour drive. Can't wait to go back.
Decent selection of craft beer. Food was good and the fare was honest. Can't ask for more than that. Definitely a dive bar but a good one! I randomly put "Bites & Brews" in my check-in post and it just so happened to be the restaurant's slogan. Recommend the brisket sub. Especially if you like brisket that is moist and seasoned alike Grandma's homemade pot roast placed in between a nicely toasted bun.
I took my wife Christine there for her birthday for a change of venue, and we were impressed at how great the food tasted. It was both our first time going there and it definitely won't be the last.
