The move-in process was very messy. The unit was vacant for over a month, but they didn’t do the deep cleaning and wall painting until the day before I moved in. As a result, the unit was smelly when I moved in, and I had to open all the windows to let the smell out. What’s more, there are a few things broken when I moved in, like my door sweep. It’s unbelievable we evacuated the Palisades only to come here to have a flood completely destroy a bunch of our things. They don’t want to maintain old systems and they drilled by the pool all day long. This is the noisiest complex I have ever lived in in my life. Drilling all day and rolling around at 6 AM their maintenance people. I have lived at this place for the last 4 to 5 months and let me tell you I was warned about it and I really should have listened. The corporation that owns this place does not allow for rent abatement even if their 17-year-old water heater floods your whole entire apartment. I paid for a renter’s insurance policy that did not cover My personal property and now I have to sue them in small claims court for that. They did not allow a 10 day rental abatement credit even though I had no hot water and I had open walls throughout ... read more
Unfortunately, Douglas Emmet Management is scrupulous. this place is the noisiest place to live in regardless of where they place you you either hear drilling all day long by the pool or drunken students walking at 3 AM down the hallway making noise. This place is not worth the rent. They are charging and on top of it all the corporation that owns this place doesn’t give a darn if your place floods due to their deferred maintenance or lack there of bottom line they don’t care about you. As a Palisades fire victim, my first foray into apartment living has been made extremely special by how the team here at the Glendon, led by Mans Eckerlund, has shown their care towards me. I was immediately made welcome and was able to look forward to creating my new home knowing I was safe here. Mans made sure at every step that I had everything I needed. I cannot recommend Mans and his team here highly enough. The Welcome Home has meant so much!
