Drove by to check the status and despite hours still being posted the place is dark. There is a notice taped to the door from Canada Post that says their mailbox is overflowing and that mail delivery is stopped until that changes, so I guess it is closed for good.
Dropped by a few times in the last month. Doors were locked and no one around. I’m assuming they have closed. This is sad. It was a great Edmonton establishment. I guess not everyone can run a restaurant. Hopefully a new owner with restaurant experience can be successful.
So disappointing after years of loving this place. The new owners, according to a business owner nearby, made zero attempt to communicate their closing. He now fields almost daily inquiries on their behalf.
Update June 2026 - R.I.P. Glass Monkey - We’ve been coming to Jack’s Grill/Glass Monkey for what I think would be termed decades now. I was concerned about recent reviews since the most recent ownership change but on a Thursday evening it was fantastic! The food was great! It arrived quickly after ordering, around 7:30ish, and was hot and tasty, as it always has been. Most importantly, the bread pudding is unchanged and is still one of my favourite things to have.
