Still struggling through the growing pains...but give it a chance – We REALLY wanted to like this place, but the downsides neutralized the upsides on our first visit. They tried so hard to sell us bottled water that we had to damn near beg to place a drink order AFTER the waiter explained the menu and asked of we needed help with the wine list. The scallops were outstanding, the cured salmon was nice, but very mean in portion. The (medium rare) tenderloin on the bone was overcooked and was as tough as stew meat. Fresh fish w... read more
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, COOL PLACE – I tried the Gage twice this week for lunch and think it is great. The menu offers offers a good variety and the quality of food is outstanding. Not only does the menu provide a wide array of meat choices from duck to elk, the details in the sides and sauces are unique and perfectly matched. I noticed that some of the ingredients were local, which I appreciated a lot! Being so close to Millennium Park, I'm glad there's a restaurant nearby that isn't so touristy (yet- and let's hope it stays th... read more
