Front desk is horrible. Felt like I was at a post office instead of a hotel in South Beach. You can tell they do not care about people or their job. Didn’t have towels in our room, were told we would be charged $35 if they weren’t in there, however they were never there to begin with. Room was dirty, toilet paper was super cheap, gym had broken equipment, etc If there was a bright note, Oscar the bell boy was fantastic. Definitely would not spend money here. The Hilton brand should be embarrassed that this is their property.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and upon check in we were not given any information about the hotels pools, restaurants, shuttle service or amenities. There is also a $40 per day resort charge that is not well advertised. The rooms were tiny, no room for bigger luggage. The beach chairs come free with the room but an umbrella is an additional cost. I got stuck in the lift for over 10 minutes. You really have to fix the lifts as a minimum standard. That is unacceptable
This hotel was outstanding!! We had looked at several options along Ocean Drive and super glad we chose this one. As a Hilton Honors member, the more I stay in Curio Collection properties the more I am impressed and this hotel is no different. We arrived to Miami around 9am and didn’t really have anything to do. We arrived to The Gabriel at around 10:30, fully expecting to be told it’s too early, or at least wait a bit.
