Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Florida Theatre was originally designed for both stage shows and motion pictures, and is now home to concerts, dance, plays, opera and film, as well as community-sponsored events such as lectures, private parties, conferences and corporate meetings. The building was restored in 1983 with state of the art technical equipment and seats approximately 2,0... read more

What a beautiful venue! Just the right size. The energy of the crowd was amazing, mostly due to the awesome performance by Post Modern Jukebox but the Florida Theatre perfectly complimented the vibe! My only complaint, please light up the stairs. Even there was an usher, she only turned on the flashlight after I almost tripped and fell
Beautiful theater, saw Postmodern Jukebox there. Sound was pretty good for balcony seats. Real intimate setting. I did take a spill walking into the balcony seating do to low light and the stair attendant was watching the show instead of the guests. Our crowd was well behave.
It was my first time ever going there. When I entered the doorway it was very nice until I walked into the area where you sit. I couldn't believe how old it was and the seats was so low to the floor and dirty and the aisle were soo close you had to get up and walk out the aisle to let someone out. I was really uncomfortable. But the plus side the people was nice and the play was good. But this place really need to remodel as soon as possible.
Had so much fun at my event. Just wish they had more snacks.
I've been to 3 concerts at Florida Theatre. Train - John Mayer - Mat Kearney Parachute Welshly Arms NeedtoBreathe. It's a wonder venue!! Small, cozy, historical and the sound is fantastic!!! Will go again
Such a hidden gem in downtown Jacksonville Florida, my daughter and I visited for the first time to see Sadie Robertsons Live Original tour, great show in a gorgeous venue. We had a wonderful time visiting from South Carolina and hope to come back to spend some time walking around downtown, our first visit there. Thank you
Last time I was here I decided I would never come back but because of a move of venue I had to. I repeatedly called and emailed for 2 weeks straight and no one ever contacted me back. Never answered the phone... Ever! The usher was so so rude I am still in awe. That being said I had a better experience at NTB and our usher was a sweetheart. The venue can't do much about drunks ruining it for the people around them but my suggestion would be, to have 2 shows in one night. An early show where there's no alcohol and we can feel... read more
