I had lunch at First Post sitting in the original building. Being a history buff I really enjoyed the room. Carly was my waitress. Friendly and very attentive, bringing my beers cold and Ruben sandwich while still hot. The sandwich was simple, uncomplicated and tasty. I will be back, although I live in Maryland.
Food is amazing!! The calamari is my favorite!!!
The service was not that great. Messed order up. Waited way to long to pay for our meal. And the waitress said she couldn't give us change. My post steak sandwich was tasty.
We waited and hour and a half at the bar for a table because they were soo busy. But the bartenders were friendly and the drinks were very good. When we were seated the waitress was wonderful and easy to talk to. The food came out quick and was delicious. I'm excited to visit again in the future! The building was beautiful and we enjoyed our visit very much!
The First Post is our favorite restaurant for a date night. Every dish that we've tried has been delicious. And from the other reviews, it would appear that Wayne is bribing customers for good reviews, but I assure you that is not the case. He really is that great!
Second year in a row celebrating my birthday with family and Dinner and service was great. Megan provided great service.

Enjoyed my company, service was friendly, food was ok.Had an early lunch with my wife, we both had onion soup to start and suspected it might be Campbells soup doctored up; weliked it but thought it was salty. She had a seared tuna sandwich, it was good but I thought the tuna was overcooked. I had the lamb burger; the lamb was perfect but I thought something else on the sandwich was over salted. Overall we enjoyed our lunch but wouldn't go out of our way to eat there again.
My wife and I have been here a few times and we love it. We live 40 minutes away but we always visit when in York.
A family member recommended First Post to me, so decided to make New Year's Eve reservations there. When we arrived, there were a large number of people waiting for tables. But our table for nine was waiting for us. The appetizers, meals, desserts and wines were amazing. My new favorite place. We will definitely be coming back!!
