fun little restaurant While there's no real fat lady, this is a nice little restaurant that serves American cuisine. The service is kind of a toss up--sometimes everyone is super friendly, and other times they rush you through your meal and make you wait a long time. Other than that, excellent food!
Fat Lady You have to love the name. My parents and their friends have been patrons of this great little restaurant for years. Some of my friends and I went here one night for cocktails as we had free time before our movie started. It is very close to Jack London Cinemas. We met the owner he was a really nice man. We made small talk and he then gave a round on the house.
Old school... We came here for a "nice" dinner and were a bit disapointed (the interior is a little shabby). The crowd is really "old school" and so is the food. But given the location (near Jack London) it could be a good choice.
One of the best in Jack London Square... I really like the atmosphere, which is Victorian with lots of red velvet and old paintings. The inside is like stepping back in time to the turn of the last century. The food is definitely well above average. I would describe many of the dishes as comfort food with a gourmet flair. We were seated by one of the owners. Had a female waitress didn't get her name. My older sister and I had a wonderful experience. service was excellent. To be able to accommodate during this new normal it was very pleasant. We have been coming to the restaurant for years and it felt good to have the same level of customer service. I will be back again. loved my Fat Lady burger cooked to perfection and my sister said the omelet with the potatoes were delicious.

I only have songs of praises for the Fat Lady! Whenever I am in the San Francisco Bay Area and have a craving for lamb, I head to Oakland's Jack London Square where the Fat Lady has the best lamb dishes that are beyond measure.
