Established in 2014. Since the age of 12 Eli has loved tinkering around with cars. This lead to a career with Bridgestone Firestone where he worked as a district technical trainer. In 2014 we took the leap and started a shop in our neighborhood!

I try not to speak negatively about a business, most qualms can be forgotten if not forgiven. However, The Family Mechanic in Bay View now deserves it. They have had my vehicle for over a month and a half. It wouldn't start. A month ago they told me they spent a half hour on it and narrowed it down to 1 of 2 things. Fuse block or wiring in steering column. I lived in Milwaukee for two years, and The Family Mechanic LLC was my go-to for any vehicle problem. When I first arrived on the WI scene, emissions tests were new to me. I drove a used Hyundai Santa Fe and guess what you get for an $800 SUV? Emissions FAIL. The Family Mechanic LLC got the vehicle in for a diagnostic ASAP and were very up front with me when it came to explaining the fix and the associated costs. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone, even now that I've relocated to Michigan. Give them a call.
I brought two cars in with issues. Before I brought them here I took them to Andrew's Toyota. Andrew's Toyota diagnosed one with a bad AC compressor ($1050 fix), the other car with a shorted wheel bearing that required a wheel hub remove and replace ($1200). The Family mechanic (TFM) diagnosed my cars with thr same problem. So to both of their credit they appear to be honest. That is my most important quality in a mechanic. Brought in my 20 year old Subaru for a random misfire that had me stumped. Within a day and a half, these guys had the problem diagnosed and fixed! They also took care of my blown off exhaust issue that I told them not to worry about. 😁 I will definitely recommend this shop to ANYONE and will also use again should another issue arise that stumps me! 10/10!

We took our van in to get some work done and it could not have been easier. Our van was done ahead of schedule, they were upfront about what was needed and what it would cost and it exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!!
