Bought four cupcakes (one for each of us). They were okay, nothing real special, price was fair but I expected something more from a specialty shop. The cake portion of the cupcake lacked any 'wow' factor, it was dry and bland. I had the red velvet and thought the icing was good. To be honest the cupcakes at Walmart are better.
There is no better place for gourmet cupcakes in East Tennessee. If you hanker for these little cakes, The Cupcakery is for you! Their macaroons are great as well.

I'm confused as to why so many cupcake makers in this town strictly use buttercream on their cupcakes. It is gross and lacks flavour. The only cupcake here without buttercream was the red velvet. So that's what I got. The cake was ok (tasted slightly faux sucre, which was odd). The icing was straight cream cheese flavoured, and I didn't particularly enjoy that.
