Good for visiting guests or a lunch I have a kinder opinion of the Corner Room than some people I've talked to. Having been several times (albeit for lunch) I think the food is not bad. For a diner, and make no mistake this is a dinner masquerading as a restaurant, the menu is varied, consistently prepared well and reasonable. They do a nice sandwich/soup/salad combo that's reasonable and I'd recommend their Italian Grinder which packs more flavor than most warm Italian sandwiches. Something for the whole family This restaurant has a bigger selection of food than you can know. They have something on their menu for everyone. You can get pasta, burgers, salmon, fish sandwiches. It's really great for big groups or when family comes to visit their college student child.
Corner Room is lovely! We had a lovely Mother's Day brunch at the Corner Room. The view was great of the downtown State College Area, making the atmosphere wonderful. The wait-staff was lovely to us and the food was great. What more can you ask for?
State College Institution, Mediocre Food The Corner Room is an institution at PSU located right in the center of the downtown area. They have a traditional menu with sandwiches and salads but I have never been really impressed with the food. The menu is lacking anything that jumps out at you and the food is only adequate. The design of the restaurant is very old fashioned and that is probably part of the appeal. It is a moderately priced restaurant.
Shepherds pie was boring, clam chowder tasted like potato soup, the carrot cake was frozen. The food was very slow coming out. My French onion soup came out plate w the food. Very disappointing

We visited The Corner Room while in town visiting. The food was great and service was fast and friendly. Our waiter, Eli did an awesome job and it was only his second day! He was friendly and quick and thought ahead about what we may need.
