One of the finest establishments around. Wait staff is excellent, food consistently terrific and the beer selection is not to be outdone. Peter (owner) is a model of hospitality. Try out Coopers - you'll love it!
Was served by Johanna last Saturday. Had an amazing time! She was able to find the perfect beer for a very picky person. Can't wait to come back and try some more and have another great talk with your bartenders.
I was in town from Minneapolis and had dinner here. There were some other charges on my card when I got home. Called and the Bar Manager Adam got me to the owner Peter that contacted me the same evening and got everything squared away. (mistake on card services) Followed up with an email and personal call. Not only is the food and service in the Tavern amazing the customer service and follow up was what all business should have. Make sure when in Madison you stop in to enjoy the fabulous food and service. Thank you!
Food was great...So much on the menu, it was hard to decide!
Don't get to the square often, but when we do we always stop here. Great beer selection and good food. They also seem to have some great tap takeovers. Last night we were able to enjoy some Founders CBS, which was pretty great.
I had the trout and it was delicious! My grandma had the sweet potato chili and that was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend both menu items! Restaurant seemed a bit noisy and packed for a Tuesday night but I guess we should've taken that as a sign of how great the food/atmosphere was- will definitely be returning
