I’m grateful to the team at Civic for making move-in experience smooth and welcoming. Tanya and Clayton were very welcoming and helped make everything comfortable, and everyone in the office is friendly and supportive.
It's a solid place to live, I enjoyed the automated locker room and maintenance is responsive, BUT: - They tried to jack up my effective rent by $1000 after a year (I'M OUT) - Parking there is a huge PITA. Your car has to go on a stacker, and even though there are unused spaces next to the elevator, you can't use them to unload your car. So every time you unload, you have to park outside and go through 4 doors + stairs to get to the elevator, or park inside and carry your stuff 100ft and wait for the stacker each time (took ... read more
What truly made my time at The Civic special was the incredible team. Tanya was the first person I met—her warmth and welcoming personality instantly sold me on the place. Don’t expect any sense of community here. Other SF properties have regular events and people actually connect - this isn’t that. The stationary bike in the gym has been broken for over a month. Ambulance sirens on Polk are non-stop. If you work from home, good luck concentrating. There are permanent homeless camps right outside, and yeah, that gets intense. I used the back exit once and nearly stepped into human feces.
We fell in love with how much the apartments received sunlight during the day even though it is surrounded by loads of tall buildings. I also love the location, as it is so close to Trader Joe's & Whole Foods. I looked at around 10 different apartments the same day, and this was our last apartment that we looked at.
