Citysearch Editorial Review – The Chesapeake Room is one of the classier eateries in the Barracks Row area. The atmosphere is distinctly casual, but the aquatically themed decor feels more elegant than nearby counterparts. Regal paintings of ships and lighthouses adorn the walls, and the wooden bar calls to mind something right off the Mayflower. Grits equal AHMAZING – I was definitely did not disappoint was the food. While the shrimp and grits I ordered did not resemble the traditional preparation of the dish, the edition presented at The Chesapeake Room was incredible. The grits were encapsulated in a fried bedding that rested atop plump shrimp drenched in a satisfyingly complex sauce consisting of spicy accents to an alcohol based tomato sauce.
