Cute neighborhood style place with a really promising comfort driven menu. The service was sweet, the atmosphere was cozy but the food was less than mediocre unfortunately. I had the pasta with meatballs, the sauce tasted straight from a can of pizza sauce (not a single herb, nor salt speck in sight, rao's sauce would have been 10x better) and the meatballs were a super soggy texture. I went on a Monday. I'm sure with traffic the bartenders there would be just as positive. The owner walked up to me when he was leaving and kindly asked how the food was. Didn't feel out of place. Very good experience, very chill atmosphere.
Soba Noodle Salad was outstanding. I would return for this. shredded cabbage (minimal) peppers carrots and cucumbers, crispy wonton sesame dressing. it was adventure in texture and taste. a well designed meal. I was disappointed with the Kalbi Beef short ribs . the beef was quite fatty, flar, and hard to chew. I understand it is Hawaiian, and not typical fall off the bone.... but though the sauce was tasty, the meat was too tough to chew.
