Better than nothing I guess. The hospital bed in the home and medications helped. But it was truly impersonal and I felt very much alone and not supported. Having to administer a suppository to my father who had end stage dementia was a very traumatizing experience. I believe the nurse should have done it. Now I live with one of my last memories of my dying father is of him screaming and hitting me, believing I was abusing him. Why wouldn't a nurse administer that medication? I understand the morphine and Ativan I could easi... read more

I'm speaking of the homecare aspect . The nurses wanna help but there so over worked your just a number. Everytime I called begging for help for my mom they packed her full of more oxi . I told the 3 rd nurse who had come in 3 days that I thought my mom was actively dying . She assured me she's done this along time and my mom was just in alot of pain not to the end yet . She died 2 hrs later alone in a ambulance because they assured me she'd make it to her appt to have her stomach drained . They picked her up at 9 am she was... read more

Our family cannot say enough great things about this facility. Dr. Kerr was so patient and kind to our 92 year old father. He explained so much. The compassion and kindness as you walk in the door oozes warmth and a peaceful feeling. The room with beautiful windows in the courtyard was fantastic. The West Herr sponsored cafe offered reasonable priced food (great quality) and complimentary coffee/tea for families. The nurses and all staff made my dad and our family very comfortable. He is where he needs to be. Thank you for a... read more

We called in hospice as my wife was failing quickly from a terrible cancer.we only had hospice for a week from the first day to her passing. I cannot say enough good about how great they were. Nurses all were supportive, caring people. Hospice itself shipped any supplies we needed including,a walker, wheelchair & a hospital bed, even prescription drugs were sent right out. If you have a loved one that is in need of help from an end of life situation, don't hesitate to call them, they were wonderful. Richard Loehr
