The Cat Doctor is a full service veterinary hospital devoted exclusively to the care of cats. When opened in June of 1988, it was the first feline only veterinary hospital in the state of Maine. With over 20 years of experience focusing on the health and happiness of cats and the people who love them, we have learned a lot.

I can’t say enough about these folks. My cat had a large mass on his leg and every place I took him just referred me to a surgical center for continued testing ($$$). I don’t think I’ve ever felt so helpless. I brought him to the cat doctor and met with a doctor who was able to help me discuss the best options for Henry. We brought our life long pet into the Cat Doctor. She had been sick so the doctor said it would be best if she were put down. With heavy heart we agreed. The family was all present saying our goodbyes with tears in our eyes. She injected our cat. We all waited with such sadness. Our cat didn't pass so the doctor went to get another needle. That was the worst experience of our lives. They should have done it right the first time, not put us through it twice.....
This review site would not let me post a comment unless I rated this Fair and not Poor. The vet still practices the Amputation of the ends of cats' toes. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, this procedure - as of 2014 - will no longer be called "declawing" but "amputation". I was surprised today when I called to learn that a "cat doctor" hasn't taught their staff the correct terminology.
