Sensational atmosphere and food was fantastic
BUT, I was just saying what great hors d'oeuvres and excellent beers we had, and terrific bartenders we hung out with, sitting at the bar when it dawned on me: WHY DOESN'T THIS FINE BAR HAVE A BIKE STAND OUTSIDE FOR MY BICYCLE WHEN THE PARKING AUTHORITY GIVES THEM AWAY FOR FREE? Carl
This is one of my favorite spots in New Haven. I come here often for a few happy hour beers after work or for lunch/dinner. This past weekend I had a surprise birthday dinner here and everything was fantastic. From our waitress who was very attentive and accommodating (can't remember her name right now) who handled the big party very well, to the food and drinks, everything was excellent. I've given this "eatery" 2 chances. Beer selection is great and the servers are very pleasant. Food on the other hand is no good. Overly salted and Luke warm at best. Went for mother's day brunch. Tables in the establishment were about half full. Our party of 10 waited an excessively long time for our food. When the food did arrive, everything was cold. I can honestly say, that I will never eat there again, nor will I recommend this place to anyone else.
This is one of the best bars / tavern I´ve ever been to. The wooden bar is great and lots of great local draft beer selection!
Service excellent, food wonderful just all around the best.
