There is little doubt that The Carlyle, with its magnificent view of Central Park and its close proximity to some of the best shops and museums in New York, is one of the preeminent "grand hotels" in New York. The Upper East Side landmark was built in 1930, when spacious accommodations, fine linens and furniture, and a large and attentive staff were the very least that might be expected for a true luxury hotel; and that tradition continues even today.

loved every minute of our stay here. very historic & just lovely! we had a comfortable room, the hotel was a nice respite from the hustle & pace of the city. it was a nice place to come home to.
It's a BG New York City Secret! Designer Thakoon occasionally heads uptown for a cup of tea at the Carlyle and a browse through a Madison Avenue bookstore.
The hotel's Bemelman Bar is famous for its murals, drinks and performers. Don't miss it.
