This large, friendly and award-winning Irish pub is divided into a front bar and a back room. Live music is played every night, and many nights there are simultaneous performances in the two rooms. Guinness is a very popular draft, but there are plenty of imports, microbrews and other beers to choose from. The menu is basic: appetizers and salads, burgers and sandwiches, roasted meats. Irish dishes include Shepherd's Pie, Guinness Stew, Irish Breakfast (on weekends), and Roast Dinner (on Sunday evenings).

Eat Meet and Greet The live music in the back room makes the Burren awesome for starting off a fun night. The authentic Irish servers and their cute accents add to the overall feel of an Irish pub experience. Good ales, good food. Gets a little crowded on the week-ends so get there early.
Good Beer! No fuss! I used to live down the street so needless to say, I frequented this place pretty often. The beer is always good (they actually clean the lines...amazing!) and the food is pretty darn good too. the mussels are some of the best inthe area (i miss them!) and the portions are supreme! always a great place to hang early evening. weekends get a little nuts for me but that's the way it goes.
Great social bar and good food! I used to hang out here all the time when I lived in Somerville after college. The Guinness is always fresh and well poured. The music is great at night and there is always a great group of people singing and talking. Their Sunday brunch is phenomenal - especially if you like an Irish breakfast.
fun bar I like this place on Thursdays for the 80s band. Its crowded then but a good time. They have some good beers on tap too. Don't really know if its fun on the weekend. But a good time on Thursdays.
I'm not often out this way, but when I'm in the mood for live Irish music, traditional food (e.g. fish and chips-->fries) and a pint, this is the place. The place has real age and character to it, feeling like you are stepping into a bit of history.
Great for the live bands over the weekends. Bartenders are very patient. Will recommend it if you want to for a live band and shake your body a bit :)
Though it's not quite as cozy as it used to be due to the addition and the larger crowds, the Burren is still my favorite place to get a pint. All the staff are from Ireland or at least the UK, and the food is pretty good for pub food. Especially the shepherd's pie and the fish and chips. The best way to do the Burren is to show up early, get cozy in a corner booth and plan to stay a while 'til the fiddlers come in. That's when the whole house stomps their feet together. Cheers!
Hearty food near Davis – This was a solid place for a heavy winter meal. The service kind of sucks... the waitress seemed really stressed out and annoyed that she was working and barely stopped to take our order, let alone ask how everything was doing as the meal progressed. I had some clam chowder, which was delicious, and sampled some of my boyfriend's steak - it was decent, definitely better than we could have cooked but not outstanding or anything. I hear their 80s night is pretty fun as well. Good selection of beer.
Great place for lunch – I had a perfectly poured Guiness and the most delicious fish and chips I've ever had for lunch. We sat on the patio on a beautiful day and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I can't wait to try it out at night for after work drinks and dinner.
