Roach Infested 3L Living is HORRIFIC, just like their properties. Roaches EVERYWHERE. Noise ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Broken doors that are NEVER PROPERLY FIXED. Violence is CONSTANT. I could truly go on forever with all the problems of 3L Living. Please save yourself -- do NOT rent from 3L Living, and NOT live at 5540 S Hyde Park.
Hope you like roaches In the past 2 days I have probably done more to kill Roach infestations in this building than management has done in 2 years that I've lived here. I've tried being patient, but having one exterminator come once every few months is NOT sufficient to handle this infestation level. the whole building needs to be shut down for a time and fumigated at this point, but obviously that's not a realistic expectation. So all I can do is encourage you to look somewhere else.
Roaches, and bed bugs galore The roaches have gotten significantly worse as time has gone on, and the property managers are not only rude but frankly negligent of the situation. This was a nice building but has progressively gotten more disgusting due to negligence.
Far from "Luxury" living Pros: Great location Fireplace is awesome Dog Friendly Cons: Common spaces smell like hot garbage Maintenance is slow to respond Staff is less than friendly Garbage area is a total mess Let me start off by saying, I have lived here for a year. WARNING: DO NOT LIVE HERE Please take this warning to heart and believe me when I say do not move here. Crime is rampant, cameras don’t work, management does nothing to control this place. I’ve complained multiple times and they won’t even answer me anymore. Save yourself the headache. 1.) There is no longer 24-hour concierge. There are constantly delivery drivers and delivery food workers wandering aimlessly around the lobby. There is no one present to receive, organize, and secure postal deliveries. Instead, there is a designated mail room (that anyone can access) and packages are to be organized on shelves by floor, however, this is rarely the case and residents have to search aimlessly for packages. Nightmare DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT LIVE HERE. The fire alarm system has been broken for half a year now and the alarm has gone of repeatedly in the middle of the nights - no answer or no fixes - but the alarm continues to go off and require evacuations. My lease has been a nightmare at this building. Any place is better than this nightmare.
Poorly Managed I have lived here for 2 years and the property has been through three (3) new management companies, each worse than the next. The building has now suffered many employees passing through and unfortunately have not attempted to re-staff what-so-ever. The concierge desk is supposed to be staffed 24/7 except now there is only one (1) person left who works second shift, part time. Frequent Building Issues While the unit is nice, this building is a nightmare. - The AC/Heating is broken frequently, when we moved in the AC was broken so it got up to 95 degrees in some units. Then just this week they said the heating is broken and could take a week to fully repair. It’s day 2 and already 60 degrees. I worry this could get really bad. - The fire alarms go off frequently with no explanation, seemingly most often late at night or early in the morning which can just drive a person crazy.
