RecommendedMy husband and I did not know what to expect given the unique menu but the dishes we ordered did not disappoint. From the Starters to the Main Dishes and finally Dessert, everyone at our table enjoyed the meal. We had a wonderful server who was attentive and friendly. Wonderful and flavorful menu artfully prepared. A gem in Chicago for sure!
I honest and for real don't think we could have had a better experience last night. From our server Ellie's warm and gracious hospitality, to the Manager who's name I didn't catch that brought over three bottles of Fernet to the table when we asked about it and sampled us on them, to the ridiculously good food, everything was flawless. If I lived closer, this would be my neighbourhood haunt. It's a serious gem.
Very disappointing Mother's Day Brunch. $50 pp for basic dishes (French Toast, Eggs in the Hole, Eggs Benedict) and a biscuit and salad starter. The biscuits were raw in the middle and the eggs were overcooked. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I would have wanted to know this before going . Service was great but I won't be back.
The food was PHENOMENAL. We had the ramp dip and asparagus to start. Both plates were delicious but my god the ramp dip. I've never tasted anything like it and it was divine. We literally licked the bowl. Asparagus was served with iberico ham, a poach egg, and something similar to a hollandaise. Amazing and unique. All of us ate the steak: perfectly cooked, one person stated it was the best steak she had ever eaten. Dessert was also a win. Great food! Interesting menu.
First of all, the crew at the Bristol were exceptionally friendly and genuine! The atmosphere is cool and demure; elegant, without the uncomfortable scrutiny by staff and patrons that too often goes along with a restaurant of their caliber. The food was uniquely delicious and the portions were, for me, sized appropriately and priced affordably. I recommend the Bristol every chance I get. Step into Bucktown's not so "secret" escape on Damen.
