Great little place, good food, good music, not too loud just perfect. Kettle of Fish were there and these dude have some talent! I will definitely be back because the Blue Rooster got it going on!
I was really looking forward to seeing Heather Gillis again with her own band. Calling and getting a front row table was just the icing on the cake. Our server Stacie kept us properly hydrated and the food was cooked to perfection.Always a great sound in this well thought out venue.Can't wait to catch a gospel brunch some Sunday !
My very favorite music/dining venue in Sarasota! Of course the main draw for me is Ari and the Alibis, however, the food is great also. Friends rave about the fried chicken while I look forward to the salads. Excellent experience always!
Best fried okra and chicken I've ever had! Service was good and our table was close to the music, we loved it. The jazz was great. They have a different group nightly and a Gospel Brunch on Sunday's. Gotta go back for that!
The music and the service was very good. The food has a lot to be desired. Being a so-called Southern Restaurant I ordered catfish. It was not fresh it was obviously Frozen already breaded and out of a box. Problem is it tasted like they cooked the box with it,it was awful. In my opinion most dishes are frozen and not prepared fresh as were the biscuits. I'm sure they have some good dishes there and but I haven't found them yet. Also a little pricey
Always a great night when Selwyn Birchwood performs!!! Only complaint would be the BR must find a way to get more young people out for Blues and Jazz
The Blue Rooster is one of my favorite places to play as a musician. The food is outstanding. The staff and management are so friendly. This is the type of establishment we need to support. If you haven't been yet give it a try.
