Checked into the ER willingly for breathing issues & chest pain at HCA. It was late on sunday night so I was told that outpatient staff was unavailable after an EKG scan so they brought me to this psychiatric unit. I had to stay over night on a 24 hr hold (Baker Acted pretty much) into the next day until I was released. 1) The main MD would not approve my release that night, so I did my best to stay calm. Completely unethical facility. Patients with insurance are Baker acted against their will from the outpatient Behavioral HCA into inpatient HCA, where they are are strip searched, all personal effects taken including eyeglasses, and kept for much longer than 72 hours regardless of them saying they want to be released to their family. They get very little contact with actual doctors (such as “Dr. Fayad”, the supposed clinician who is never seen or spoken to, although if you’re lucky you may speak to a sneering resident who cl... read more
A horrible 3-day experience! The psychiatrists are cold, uncaring people. Very unprofessional attitudes and services rendered. I left there discharged and untreated for my mental health status and conditions. NEVER AGAIN would I become an in-patient at this facilities psychiatric unit...
Hi all. Just home from a four day stay after suicidal ideations and deep depression/anxiety. Units like this are here to save and improve people’s precious lives, and NFBHU offers just that.
