As hard as it tries not to be one of the pretentious Wicker Park bars, Black Beetle really cannot help but feel extremely cool about itself. Abounding with middle class posturing, the joint is a wannabe pick-up place, with all the fixings except for actual pick-ups. In addition to the main bar area, patrons can relax in one of the lounge chairs in the TV room. The bar is worth a visit for the food, such as black bean crusted chicken strips and standard burgers and salads, and the exceptional juke box.

RecommendedGood company, friendly staff, Great burgers& good beer menu
I've been coming here since 2004 and it's been great for that long. Always yummy food and good drinks and great atmosphere. I don't live down the street anymore but I still try to stop by at least once a year.
This place is the best.. me and my girlfriends side of the family came to chicago from NJ and Fl for navy bootcamp graduation and ate here twice in the 3 days we visited.. they serve breakfast which is awesome. Their is nothing on their menu that isn't tasty. Highly recommend and great service by both of the women we were served by!!
Spent a lot of time at this place while attending Riot Fest this past week and the staff made it feel like home. Would recommend the burgers, chicken panini and very good beer selection, oh, and the Jameson Irish Whiskey pours were perfect. Will be back next time in this area.
