My new favorite coffeeshop/bookshop/community space! The owner is so sweet and friendly and I LOVE the concept of being a community place to hang out, play games, and make art! The coffee is amazing with some really cool custom drinks-- I thought I didn't like mochas, but turns out I'd just never had a good one until I went to Common Grounds . This is one of those coffee shops you know keeps a community alive and thriving. The owner was super helpful and welcoming. The decor, vibes, activity options at this cafe are phenomenal. So personable and a place I would love to sit down and enjoy my coffee with books and games with friends and family unlike other places that feel very grab and go. And the macchiato and chai were definitely the best I’ve had in Lombard. Highly recommend especially to bring kids and make a trip out of it!
This lady 👆🏽is completely out of line. This place is amazing, the owner is a sweetheart and there is so much attention to detail in the way all of the drinks are made. Take a second to actually look around and speak to the owner about the way things are done and you can’t help but come away impressed.
Rude condescending and underwhelming. Didn’t even try anything bc when I asked for a cup of tea he said it’s a whole pot and it’s 5.50… and said I have to take the whole pot or it goes to waste. I said , ok no thank you he got defensive asked “why? maybe I’m not explaining it clear enough “I said I wasn’t planning to pay 5.50 for a cup of tea and he replied “what do you think a cup of tea costs? This is a beautiful space to exist. It is welcoming - it is full of ways to soothe yourself with art, books, board games and coffee, and the owner is an excellent person who is willing to talk to you about what matters to both of you if that's the sort of interaction you desire. The space celebrates local artists with art for sale and on the walls. Regardless of skill level you are also encouraged to make your own art as well - there is a space for you to create for free.
