I cannot recommend The Bair Foundation for prospective foster families. In my experience, they provide inadequate training and show little interest in truly understanding the families they work with. There is a blatant disregard for how fostering affects a family’s internal dynamic; the expectation is that you give until you are depleted. Furthermore, once you hit your limit, instead of receiving support, you are discarded, and I’ve seen them resort to filing unfounded reports against licenses. My wife is a child trauma psychologist and I am a Christian minister, published author, and public speaker with a past. I also run a non-profit organization specifically for special needs, troubled and at risk children in East Texas. We make over six figures, live in a half a million dollar home, and are fully qualified to have foster children. This organization says they are Christian, but yet if you have a past of which has been forgiven and you have been reformed and born again but the power of the Holy Spirit they will not license your family. They are very judgmental and do not believe or follow the Biblical principles they claim. There staff saying things that are untrue and they say oh well we shouldn’t have said that or that is a training issue. When I was in foster care they answered all my questions really made me feel like part of the family now I do respite care for Biar Foundation which I truly love doing. These guys are some of the best people you will ever work for and for me it wasn't worked it was family
