This is the ‘new’ waiting room for day surgery at The Avenue Hospital. Not even a side table so my bag is on the floor as a trip hazard. Last time I was here they had recliner chairs and blankets. Its freezing fold. The lady next to me has been waiting over 3 hours. Appalling barely describes what this is and we’re all wondering what private health cover really pays for aside from the Ramsay Health execs and shareholders?

I accompanied a family member to The Avenue recently and feel it’s worth noting that while the physical infrastructure is showing signs of wear, the standard of care remains commendably high. The staff were excellent efficient and reassuring throughout. Despite the somewhat dated surroundings, everything ran smoothly and with a minimum of fuss.

I had knee surgery there 2 weeks ago and everything was perfect - in particular the staff and facilities ... I rate it 10/10 congratulations to everyone at the Avenue .. and thank you for looking after me so well !!

I had surgery on my foot 2 weeks ago. The staff were lovely and very efficient. Busy operating theatres but the pre op room was like a big well oiled machine!! The rooms are very nice, decorated well. The food was pretty good too.
