Hidden jewel. – A friend recommended this restaurant and it is hands down the best place to get Thai in Portland Metro. The pad thai is the best I've ever had and the masaman curry is phenomenal. The staff is very friendly, decorating and seating are unique. Of crouse , food are the best. We love every thing there. Big parking lot too. HGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Favorite Thai restaurant – I love this place. The decorations and furniture are fabulous- I always feel like I've left suburban America and entered Asia when I come here. And the food is AWESOME. I've never had a bad dish. I love Thai food and so I'm thrilled to have found one that consistently delivers. I've rarely seen it crowded at night; I can only guess that it's because it's in a strange location and not well-signed.
overpriced and corporate feel, so-so food – Wouldn't go back, food was only so-so and the price tag would have been okay for a great meal, but it left a lot to be desired. Very corporate feeling to the ambiance, they tried too hard to be "authentic" and it just feels fake.
Great Ambience in Beaverton! – I am not a fan of thai food, and typhoon did not change my mind. however, the members of my party who do like thai food tell me that typhoon serves a good curry - JT had the green curry with chicken, which was $11, and he devoured the entire thing, including the rice that we ordered. shmackyrelish had some eggplant dish with shrimp, and she liked that. i had the halibut, which came served with the best presentation i have ever gotten - it was like a piece of artwork on my plate. and not too bad... read more
Nouveau Thai in The Round – Elegant interior w/ private feel, even though it was a large area. Bar could get loud. Formal but casual enough for families. We were there on a Thursday evening about 7pm. Nouveau Thai cuisine, not traditional, but also not overly sweet like a lot of supposed traditional. I had the eggplant w/ shrimp. I also had the pumpkin soup (w/ cocnut, ginger and cilantro pesto) YUM. It was very savory, and that savory flavor was a thread throughout the items I ordered. We also had the tempura batter fried c... read more
a little over priced but good – The food was good. Atmosphere is great. Service is very good. Prices are a little high. It's odd for a Thai restaurant to charge extra for rice.
No Service = No Tip – We called in advance on a Friday night to ask if there was a wait; there was not. We arrived 5 minutes later to find a 20 - 25 mintue wait. We waited for our table in the bar area; the bartender didn't acknowledge us for 5 minutes. Finally, we think it was the host who took our drink and dinner orders. After we had ordered, our table was ready. Once our server at the table realized that we had already ordered, we received zero service! The busser brought out our food and our to-go boxes. The server didn... read more
Beaverton's Best – I have been a fan of Typhoon for years, and the new Beaverton location is my new fav. Somebody went out of their way to design this space. It's beautiful. Of course they have the same great food I'm used to from Typhoon, and the staff is extra friendly and very knowledgable. This is a must try restaurant. Come for the amazing happy hour and stay for dinner.
The Happiest Hour – I was really impressed with the price during happy hour for food and drink. The service was really good too and fast. I would highly recommend to go there during happy hour.
