Nothing Special – Texican Cafe has half of their decor stolen from Chili's. Their food, while somewhat better, is nothing to write home about. And you can get better Mexican food almost anywhere. Their shrimp enchilada was skimpy on the filling. Their steak was ridiculously fatty and not very appetizing. It tasted like they cooked it in a pound of butter, to make matters worse. Margarita's weren't bad and the waitstaff was nice.
Worth the drive – Best real mexican food in town! Wide variety of items on the menu to fit almost anyones taste.
Excellent Food – This was definitely the best mexican food I've had in Austin! The tamales were excellent. The beef and spinach enchiladas were also very good. The only negative is that it can get very noisy in the dining area. If you want great mexican food at a reasonable price, this is the place to get it.
Best TexMex In Austin!!! – The Texican has the best salsa you will ever eat, not to mention the queso and the heavenly enchiladas cozomel (shrimp enchiladas). Looks can be deceiving give it a try, its worth it.
