RecommendedI have been going to the Texas Tavern since I moved here from NY in 1992!! It’s the best laid back dive I’ve ever been to and has the cheapest eats in the valley!! I can eat 2 bowls of chili with cheese 🧀 on top and 3 sometimes 4 hotdogs with lots of mustard on them in one sitting!! I also have had quite a few cheesy westerns over the years and always put a butterflyed hotdog,bacon 🥓, and chill with extra cheese 🧀 on top !!
Food was great. We got our food in less tgan 5 mins and it was a very good price!!!
RecommendedI’m 60 years old my dad took me to the tavern when I was a kid they used to call it the millionaire club as a joke. You buy lunch today this week I take you to the millionaire club. This is a Roanoke landmark and I was delighted to eat a bowl of chili last night from a place I will never forget and it was no disappointment it tasted the same as it did in my memories thanks god. This may have been my worst food experience! The food is very affordable,but do you really want to that to your body? The burgers are paper thin and rough, but for a dollar what do you expect. They didn’t even have mayo or other regular condiments! Just ketchup and mustard! And the chili!!! It was basically brown water and dry beans! No amount seasoning could make it even slightly decent! Food wasn’t hot. Forgot my husband’s order and waited on 4 other people before he got his. We had to ask them twice where his order was. People who think that the chili is good have never really had good chili. One of the staff guys was very rude as we guess he was upset he had to come to work because he walked in with a attitude and smart mouth. We won’t be back!!!

This place is the absolute fire! From the cheesy westerns on down, there isn’t anything that I could funnel at this place! Fast, cost effective, and delicious! It’s so good I just sweet talked my Wife’s Aunt & Uncle to bring me a jar of the mustard slaw...To Ohio where we live! I just added it to a bratwurst we made and it about made me write a love song! I would slap my mother for this food, and I love that woman!�
