Quite simply the best place on Earth. The restaurant / bar / music hall & neighboring outdoor beach park is owned by Phil Lesh (Founding member & bass player in the Grateful Dead) and his lovely wife Jill. They have created a wonderful environment to hear some good music and eat some tasty food. There is free music every night in the bar. Located on a beautiful waterfront setting. Come for dinner or just to hang and hear some music. Or best yet, come for dinner and stay to see a show in the Grate room (a intimate concert hal... read more
Fun place, great music with Rattlebox, good food.
Loved it! Nice view from the upper floor. Good bar
Worst service ever. I ordered a pizza and the rest of the table ordered kitchen items. They have all finished eating and still no pizza. Server has disappeared.
Fantastic food, service and music! If you're ever in San Rafael, you must eat in this cool place.
Second time here. This visit was much better than the first one. Excellent food and service. And for a special treat, Phil Lesh played on the outdoor stage.
Phil and more Phil. Very cool and relaxed scene in the Grate Room and the lawn. Let there be songs to fill the air.
Phenomenal! Music to not only fill the air, but also the soul..Jill and Phil, great place you have here.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food and good vibes. The bands in the bar area are good and sometimes, if you're lucky, you can catch Phil Lesh sitting in with them. (And even a rare appearance of Bob Weir) There is a lovely outdoor eating area with a stage and a play area for children. The "grate room" is upstairs and hosts concerts.(Tickets are usually needed, but it's not expensive) It's a bit of the 60's that we are lucky to have for a while longer. As the Grateful Dead songs goes, "Some rise some fall, some climb, to... read more
