Originally, I would have rated this place three stars. The cook was fantastic the food was good, but their service was absolutely HORRIBLE. The waitress kept trying to push extras on to all of us, and my sister explicitly told the waitress that she didn't want any extras, the food is already horrendously expensive. In the end, the waitress charged my sister for extra rice, and charged my parents $11 extra because they replaced their rice with veggies which is completely outlandish! Great service – Went here for dinner on Sunday, they told me it was going to take 20 minutes to be sat and it only took 5. Then the server was great, very attentive and had a great personality. I would hate to have to wear those flip flops with socks but I guess the idea of bare feet around my food I hate worse. Good experience.
Whatever attitude for servers – Serice here was lack luster at best. The hosted was snotty and the servers only cared about getting in getting your tip and getting you out.
Very good food, but expect to pay a higher price for it – I have been to this location several times since it opened, and I haven't been disappointed yet. The pricing is the same as the other Japanese steakhouses in the valley. The service has always been very good, since each table gets their own host. My drinks always are filled, and the food always is served promptly. Horrible! – I came to this site just to give this place a bad review. We went there a few days ago, and it was awful! I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant. I ordered some sushi (which I admit was decent) but then the waitress messed up with my order and almost gave me someone else's sushi. When I explained to her that I had only ordered one roll, she didn't get it. I had to tell her three times. Extremely bad service, fishy-tasting sushi – The hostesses were not very friendly and neglected to inform us that the sushi area was a separate part of the restaurant and self-seating. After waiting a half-hour for a table and being seated elbow-to-elbow with others at the grill, we finally found our way to the empty (for good reason even though it was Sat night at ~7PM) Sushi area. spectacular sushi – Service is fair. Most of the time they are very prompt and ready to take your order only a few minutes after you are seated. Their sushi dishes are one of a kind, fresh, and amazing. The sushi chef is more than happy to come out and explain a certain type of dish to you and what he would recommend. Very nice, clean atmosphere.
Slow Service/ So So Food – My husband and I used to go to Tepanyaki because it is close to our home. We love sushi but don't want to drive so far. Eating in the sushi section is a joke! We had the same experience every time we dined there. The waitress only came to the table to get our orders. Even though she passes by our table 5-10 times she never stops to see how the food is or fill up our drinks.
