Exceptionally rude, surly. Wow. I don't know that I've ever been treated more rudely. "Surly" "angry" and "contemptuous" sort of begin to describe the way the woman treated me and my two girls. I brought them there for a haircut because I had heard it was a decent, inexpensive haircut. My girls are extremely shy and well-behaved, age 8 and 10. The hardly make a peep, so it wasn't a case of rudeness being the result of obnoxious children. The woman grabbed my daughter's hair roughly, as though she was in a bad mood. She LITER... read more

Holy Rude! I made an appointment @ Tenpachi and on my way there it started POURING down rain. It was my first time there and I couldnt see anything except the white windshield so I pulled over and waited 10 min which made me late. I did not have their phone number w/me but I figured I would explain what happened when I got in there and that would be the end of it. I walked in, apologized for being 15 min late and said I had to pull over b/c I was blinded by the rain... Kelly, said nothing but showed me how upset she was abou... read more

Butchered! A few years ago my boyfriend & I went to Tenpachi for a quick summer trim. It was very quick - we were out (both of us) in ten minutes. The stylist l;ooked as if we were putting us out and was in a big hurry. When I got home I had to cut my hair myself as she hadn't taken the time to even i up. I don't remember her name but I decided not to go back. I just needed a trim recently so I thought I'd give them another try. The service was great! The stylist was super friendly and took time with my hair. I had been grow... read more

Great Price, Great Haircut I just went to Tenpachi for the first time and was really really happy with the results! Nikki did exactly what I asked, and it was so quick and easy. It only cost me $13, where can you beat that price and STILL get a great haircut? The last time I paid that cheap of a price was at a Hair Cuttery and I literally left in tears... since then I'd been going to an upscale salon but it got to be too expensive.

Diana is an excellent colorist I have been to quite a few places here in Baltimore for highlights -- including much pricier salons -- and I feel like Diana at Tenpachi did BY FAR the best job. I have received many compliments on my hair since she started doing the highlights. I really recommend her.

Cheap and Sometimes Chic Tenpachi is a very low budget hair salon. They cut your hair (quickly) and then you sit at mirrored stations and blow dry and style your own hair. I've had decent cuts there, but the consistency varies widely by stylist. I'd ask around for who the best are. I've had good luck with Ariana.

Give and Take If you want a cheap hair cut, this is the place to go. If you want a good hair cut, I would probably go somewhere else. Not once have I gone into Tenpachi and received the style I desired. I usually came out looking like I had just joined the army. The redeeming quality is that it costs only $10 for men. I guess this helps because the area is largely populated by students and people who don't have excess money to spend.City parking as usual, so it's not easy to find.

Cheap Hair Cut It's one of the closest hair cut places to Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus and only $11 to get a haircut. You go in (usually by appointment) and they wash your hair and then you get it cut. The quality isn't great, but you do get your hair cut. You're not paying that much, so you can't really complain. Just be very specific about the style and length you want your hair to be.

Tenpachi is OK. Some people hate it. Some people are ok with it. Rarely do I meet anyone who absolutely loves it. But the haircuts are cheap and fast. A simple guys' haircut only costs 11 bucks, and comes with shampoo and rinse. Can't beat that price!
