Two stars because the real stars of this place are the hygienists and front desk staff. Honestly, they’re the only reason I keep coming back. There were already some confusing moments with insurance estimates and coverage, but my bigger issue was with the dentist (the older gentleman—I can’t remember his name). I was going to Tend for 3 years+ at this point, and this year has truly ruined my experience and I will be finding a new dentist. This January, they told me I needed a crown on a cracked filling. I proceeded, Dr. Buchanan shaved down my tooth and placed a temporary crown. I had to come to 4 subsequent visits where they tried to place the permanent crown, none of which fit. I had an appointment with Tend Dental where treatment recommendations were made, and before agreeing to anything, I specifically asked about pricing. The office checked my insurance, provided my estimated out-of-pocket cost, and collected payment based on that amount. About a week later, I received an additional bill for an astronomical amount that was never disclosed to me beforehand. I loved my experiences at Tend Midtown with Dr. Franco! However, at my last appointment I was, unbeknownst to me, changed from my usual provider to Dr. Buchanan, who barely introduced himself before roughly shoving his hands in my mouth and ordering unnecessary x-rays. I had a series of bad experiences at both the Buckhead and Midtown locations which made me question Tend’s business practices and certain dentists. My scans got “distorted” so I had to come back to get my jaw numbed a second time for a filling. Then the filling left a gap that food would get stuck in. I went to another Tend dentist who admitted it was done poorly and said we could replace it without charge as soon as I was ready.
