Ten Thousand Villages A traveler's dream! Walking into this store, I felt like I was going down memory lane...they have handmade gifts from many faraway places. I saw a stuffed llama made in Peru similar to one I bought as a souvenir on a trip to South America years ago. On a recent trip to Japan, I bought a traditional curtain. I found the perfect bamboo curtain rod to hang my new curtain at Ten Thousand Villages!
One of the coolest stores ever! The interesting thing about this store is that it features handmade items from all over the world that have been fairly traded for. This means you can get authentic handcrafts that you know have not been produced by inequitable practices. They have a great selection of unique things from all over. Pottery, textiles, ornaments, tin. I shop here over and over.
inexpensive unique gifts great concept and philosophy for a store, all fair trade items. Great scented soaps and handmade cards. Lots of ceramics and jewelry. Scarves are really pretty too.
