TCS installed my tile floors directly to the subfloor without any backer board, one of the rooms has failed. The other two are now considered building defects. There are at least 2 other homes in my neighborhood who are experiencing the same tile floor failures.

My fiancé and I are currently under contract for a home we are building in ****, Oregon. On September 15th we selected and agreed to finishes ranging from flooring to tile backsplashes, etc. We were very selective and strict with our decisions and chose to use a 2x2 tile version of our main shower and bath tile. We chose this to create a very seamless and timeless look. We were not impressed with our other limited standard options and this was literally the only option we liked.
