While visiting the area from downstate I did a Google search hoping to find a Crossfit gym that had a reasonable drop-in rate. $15 is more than reasonable, especially given that the YMCA charges $20. Kurtis is a great coach. I've been going to Crossfit for several years, but I still learned new exercise improvements from him during both classes I attended. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area for sure.
Do yourself a favor and drop in on one of Kurtis's crossfit classes. I spend July on the Leelanau Peninsula every summer, but this summer was different I wanted to kickoff a fitness journey. I pictured myself finding a crossfit class and trying to maintain a routine of 3 days a week for the month. TC CrossFit is awesome. The workouts are seriously good — challenging but super well thought out. Curtis, the owner, actually creates all the programming himself, and it shows. He’s also the coach and does a great job explaining everything, whether it’s the movements, pacing, or how to scale if needed. The gym itself is really clean, and the equipment is top-notch. Curtis is a great coach and I had a great time dropping in! Very welcoming environment whether you are just stopping in or need a full-time CrossFit gym. Definitely recommend going here!
