This hospital can’t handle Brooklyn. Overwhelmed and under staffed. Closed two hospitals and Brooklyn hospital can’t take the strain.

My last stay at Brooklyn Hospital was a nightmare! I would have asked to be transferred to another hospital if not for the great care and service provided by my wound care doctor, Dr. Dhara Sumit. It seems like the hospital is under staffed from the ER to the Unit Floors. The room I was assigned to was so small, it seem as if it was being used for storage by the many blood pressure carts that where placed in the room. Go to another hospital there's plenty of hospitals in New York
Friend of mine was sitting in bed for 2 hours, soaked in urine though he rung the bell multiple times. This same friend of mine complained to a patient care technician yesterday while I was there about the way he is being treated. This patient can't walk or do anything for himself. He can barely speak. Tonight he called me to tell me he rung the bell and it's been two hours but no one came. I am not sure what has happened to this hospital. The ED department is grossly understaffed as well as the unit floors. As a patient you are expected to prompt your nurse for your pain meds, but you're the patient. In a 12hr shift I saw my nurse twice... Even though I'm supposed to get my pain meds every 4hrs. Then when I finally do see her she asks me why haven't I gotten up yet... I just had a major surgery and I'm experiencing excruciating abdominal pain, but it is her expectation I jump out of bed alone to walk. There is... read more
I've had two surgeries here and was well taken care of all the time the first was an emergency that saved my life, the second have me a second chance on life I'm very grateful for the care and compassion that was given. Thank you TBHC!!��
