Extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience. I lived in Japan for three years and have eaten at many omakase restaurants. Tatsu was the first one that made me feel like I paid a premium price to be treated poorly. We were not the last to arrive, but were seated last at the far end of the counter. During the meal, I noticed white guests were seated in the center and received significantly more conversation and ingredient explanations from the chefs, while Asian guests were seated toward the sides with minimal interac... read more
Tatsu was the most disrespectful and unprofessional place of dining i’ve ever been to. We came to dine in 2026. The meal started off okay, as the dinner progressed the fish tasted old and then they served us a dish of scallion on rice. We drove 3 hours for this restaurant and we were not going to eat scallions on rice. RIPOFF. When we did not eat this dish the chef refused to speak to us for the rest of the dinner. ridiculously overpriced, not worth it. had to pay hundreds upfront when's scheduling the reservation. Total bill came out to almost 1K. I could name at least 10 better sushi spots in Dallas without thinking twice. I mean we spend 1k and that... read more
Finally got to try Tatsu, and it was worth the wait. Every course was well thought out and had its own personality. The staff did an awesome job explaining each dish and wine pairing without making it feel too formal. You can tell they genuinely care about the experience, not just the food. We never felt rushed, and the whole evening flowed really well. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Dallas, and I’d definitely come back.
