What I like about Tastee diner is that the interior has been left mostly untouched. Reminds me of how it was before previous owners sold it to them. That said, the food quality has gone up by 1000% which helps me forget why we used to call it Tasteless Diner. Kudos for turning the place around :-)

Really good traditional breakfast. Great home fries, great chicken and waffles. Wonderful aroma throughout the place emanating from the flat top.
This place saved my life (well at least my brunch!). A gem in Asheville. I’m so glad this place exists. Daily specials, lovable diner atmosphere. I had the Korean biscuit w fried egg and kimchi and I recommend! Chicken and waffles were crisp and fluffy too!
The cook who was making our order in a COMPLETELY empty restaurant managed to screw up a single hamburger... unbelievable! When I refused the food order because mine had cheese (severely lactose intolerant) and my boyfriend's had no cheese when he did order it...she was upset and her solution was to put cold cheese on his and serve it! Mine was going to be remade and put on the original soggy, incorrectly topped bun. I walked out.

At first, as a local, I was bummed out about this classic diner changing hands - but giving it a shot I'm glad I did. Been back a few times - the burgers are great (especially the pimento!) the fries are fresh and crispy and the beer is relatively cheap for Asheville. The decor is pretty similar to the old restaurant but with nice and tasteful additions such as a simple outdoor eating area with picnic tables. Nothing like a cold beer and a greasy burger on a hot sunny day! 😎
Reasonably priced breakfast. Standard diner food with W. Asheville twist (they make their own veggie sausage). Ordered at the counter and sat ourselves. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. Nothing to write home about, but good food quickly for a decent price.
Always great each time we order! Love the handcut fries. Amazing flare on homestyle dishes.
