Not Recommended – Tandoor Indian in Chapel Hill had a $12 for $25 Groupon. We went to use this groupon a couple weeks back and it was the worst experience. Staff was very rude and not professional. Treated us like second class citizens since we had a groupon. We noticed they did this to someone else too with a groupon. There are all kinds of restrictions for the groupon so be very very careful before you buy it. I would recommend getting your money back if you can. Bland, boring, below par .... bummer! – Was enticed to the restaurant with a Groupon but even at half price was not worth it. Bad Food, bad service, stay away! – Besides the bad food and expensive price, they mandatory 20% gratuity is ridiculous for their rude service.
Best Tikka Masala Outside UK – I took some European friends who have lived here for the last 10 years. Best Indian they've had since living in the UK.
Good Indian Buffet – I've had both the buffet and a la carte. Their food is good, especially when ordered from the menu. There food is authentic without being overpowering. A great local place for a taste of India.
Average Indian Food – Decor: Normal family owned substandard decor that is to be expected. Since this is not a fine dining restaurant, not really a big deal. Only concern was the very loud telephone next to our table. Food: Ordered chicken tikka which was very tender but really needed more spice. Mild had no heat whatsoever. Dinner for two value, pretty good food. – Tandoor?s onion chutney boldly varied in flavor and color from the average offering. It was tulip red and somewhat sweet, which was a pleasant counterpoint to the bitterness of raw onion. Really unimpressive – The restaurant is buffet style (an EXPENSIVE buffet- $13 dinner not including drinks), and the food is not really that great. The tables are smooshed together and it is incredibly loud. For this price, you can do better.
Great tasting foor, excellent service – I have never tried indian food before moving to the area. A group of friends were going here and I thought I would try it. I truely am hooked. The flavor is amazing and everyone in their restaurant from the greeter to the bus-boy was so nice and accomadating. I have since tried 3-4 other Indian spots around the triangle but none compare to this one!!!
