Imagine a parallel universe in which a chrome-plated, 1950s era American diner somehow collided with a first rate Indian restaurant. Furthermore, imagine that nothing was damaged and the only thing to get mixed up was the menu. The result would be something like this friendly neighborhood eatery. Located in the middle of the city, Tamber's offers cheeseburgers and eggs, as well as Tandoori Chicken and Rogin Josh. Everything is perfectly cooked and moderately priced. The crab cake sandwich is one of the best bargains in town.

Indian or American cuisine! Tambers is a great restaurant....no matter what kind of food you are in the mood for. Great menu selection (both Indian and American). They recently had renovations done and the atmosphere is very nice. Tambers is also in a great neighborhood in Charles Village and a fun place to catch lunch on the weekends.

Decent food...disappointing atmosphere – I've only been to Tamber's once. Their menu is an unusual mix of traditional American diner fare (cheeseburgers, French toast, and so forth), and Indian cuisine. I opted for the vegetable korma, with a mango lassi and a basket of naan stuffed with potatoes. It was good - not mindblowingly good, but I had no complaints. I cleaned my plate and felt plenty satisfied. I especially liked the raita. The atmosphere, however, is pretty lame. It feels sterile, empty, and utilitarian, with acry... read more
nifty fifties goes Indian – Tambers is a great place to get a good meal at a reasonable cost. I was surprised to find that the Indian cuisine offered there is as good as there American fare. It is a good place to go when you and your date Indian and American food. You both leave happy
