Favorite family owned Eastside original!
Great local spot owned by a long time East Austin family. It’s great food by great people.

I originally headed over for a beer at Zilker Brewery, but there was no way I was waiting an hour. Bailing was the best decision of the night because it led me right to Tamale House. You can immediately tell this is a true family-run spot—it looked like mom, daughter, and a few other relatives were running the show. The service was on the slower side, but it was completely understandable.
